What Boy Doesn't Love A Campfire?

Yesterday my Uncle Charley came over to MiMi's house

not only to visit but also to help MiMi with some yardwork

in her backyard.  And it was exciting because part of

the job called for a bonfire!!!

I think my Uncle Charley will introduce me to many new things

and so this is just the first ... my very first campfire!

Wait a minute ... one of these faces is not like the other!

There, that's better ... two scrunched up faces!

And, of course, we had to share the good times with

my brother, Simon. 

We want you back soon Uncle Charley ... you

come up with some pretty cool things to do!

In Sam's World I Am 6 ... Months Old That Is!

 Aunt Kerrian shares her birthday balloons

with me ... yea, 6 months old today!

 My BIG brother Simon was so helpful

in putting all the balloons in my reach.

 Well, Simon, thank you ... hey, can you see me here?

I got my 6 month check-up today too

and here are my new stats.

I am now 17.5 lbs. and 26 " tall.

For those of you who like to do that thing called

"comparing" ... at 6 months Simon was 17.2 lbs. and 25" tall.

Lookout BIG brother, you may be looking up

to me one day ... but, I'll always be looking up to you!

Sam's World Has Moved Outside!!!

It feels like my whole life has been spent playing indoors.  

Okay well it's only been five months

but that's a lifetime to me!

I'm just learning how to enjoy some new

and fun ways to play in my exersaucer and jumping seat,

but now that the weather is warmer, 

some days MiMi takes us outdoors!!!  

Turns out there's a whole new world out there

to play in a box filled with sand!!!

I've got time to watch Simon and learn the tricks of 

building piles with a shovel and moving them around

with the trucks and diggies.

But get ready, it won't be long before I'll be 

able to sit up all on my own 

and if I fall over in sand, no big whoops ... 

that might be fun!

Sam Says He Is On A Roll !!!

The weeks are passing by and I will soon be 5 months old!

My 4 month check-up was last week

and we are here to report just how big I am!

I was 15 lbs. 14 oz. and 24 inches long.

I'm almost ready to say 24 inches high because

I have begun sitting in my exersaucer and using

my legs to push myself vertical!!!

Another BIG new skill for me in this past week

is that I can now do a flip!

Well, okay not that kind of flip

but it's still pretty exciting, isn't it?

Sam's Biggest Fan Is Also His Big Brother!

When MiMi lets us have some TV time

with our friends at Sesame Street

Simon never lets me miss the good parts ...

And if I need some entertainment

when the TV is a No-No,

well look who is always ready to

rock my world!

Simon, I couldn't ask for a better big brother!

Sam's World Reads Like Cliff-Notes, Not A Daily Blog

MiMi and I are really trying our best

to keep everyone up on my life ... BUT

MiMi set herself up for a real challenge I told her

when she started Simon Says two years ago.

Looking back, life back in early 2009 must seem 

so easy ... she seemed to have spare minutes galore

to chat away with you all on that blog.

Today it is a far different story isn't it? 

We are all getting along beautifully really ... BUT

two little boys is not just double the challenges

to MiMi's time but triple the use of her energies.

So bear with us ... these stories may come in batches

instead of dailies, but it will still be fun to have them

to read when I grow up and want to remember

my fun-filled days with my brother Simon and my MiMi.

On Thursday we all had a visit with some very good friends

of MiMi's and Simon's. Erin Spurrier and her kids Remy and Chase

hadn't gotten to meet me yet so they came for a visit

and it was love at first sight for all of us!

We had a good time getting to hug and snuggle. I hope that

they'll come back and play again soon.  Simon tells me

that they might want to go to the Tot Lot with us

one day when it gets warm! Yay!

 MiMi and I had a lot of "alone" time in early January.

You probably read about this on Simon's blog, but

he became very sick and had to spend four days in the hospital. 

While he was there, I stayed with MiMi.  We had to make up

some new ways to spend our time and MiMi 

grabbed her camera and tried out some portrait work.

 

Then there was my first bath time at MiMi's.

I have developed the talents to

begin sitting up ... thank goodness for Bumbo.

And, yes, it's not too early to begin getting my

chops at learning the ways of Sesame Street and friends.

Simon has a good time with all the lessons, music and dancing

and he wants to take me to the Elmo show one day too!

I am growing quickly ... MiMi will share my latest stats

with you after my next visit to the doctor's office in February.

But a guy's got to work at keeping a good looking body ...

And along with biceps curls, I like to do some legwork too ...

Well, this has been a look at some of the fun times

we have had in January after we were so very lucky

to get Simon back home and healthy again.

Sam's Life in Fast-Forward

I know that everyone thinks that the 

busy days during all the holidays makes

it feel as though it's rush, rush, rush.

Well, I've done my best to keep up and 

really so has MiMi, but she knows that

it's been way too long since she's been able to

share Me with You!

So here goes ...

 I've got a gym membership ...

 I played Santa in a local production ...

 I got the closest thing to a tattoo that I'm allowed ...

 I discovered my tongue and how to communicate with it ...

 I've gone hipstomatic ...

 I made a new friend with a cutie, Doria ...

I've learned that people love to laugh with me!

We Survived (Even Thrived) Our First Week!

Well, we all knew the day was coming and we tried to be prepared ... Mommy had to return to her "other job" and MiMi and I would get to know each other much better.

On Monday, December 20th Simon and I arrived at MiMi's. There was all kinds of excitement because not only was it my first day joining MiMi and Simon, but Lauren and Rama had arrived for their Christmas visit too!  The place was hopping!

If you'd had a peek during the morning watching us all, you might have had some doubts about how well MiMi was managing ... but you know I had to make my presence known and give her a little run for her money. You know the trick ... try a different style bottle, a different style nipple, a different temperature, a different position, try some rocking, try some swaying, sing to me, check that diaper again ... okay, I finally took pity on their three ring circus act and fell asleep.

MiMi had the good fortune (and the good sense) to call in all the reinforcements she could get from Aunties Lauren and Rama and she says thank goodness she had them here for our "getting to know you" week!

Sam and MiMi Spend A Day Together And The Question Is Who's Who?

Today was our first day together,

just MiMi and me.

Momma and Simon went off

to see trains and eat pizza

(two things I am sure to love also in a year or two).

Today I had a visit with MiMi's good friend,

Erin and the usual question when I meet 

new people continues to be,

"Who does he look like? Does he look like

Simon?  Well, here you go ...

At the time of these pictures, Simon was 12 weeks old
and Sam Henry was almost 10 weeks.
Momma  reminded MiMi that since
Simon joined the family 5 weeks earlier
than expected and I was 3 weeks earlier,
 basically we were about the same!

There Aren't Any Big Changes - Yet!

 I keep hearing everyone say,

"What do you think?  Does he look like

Simon, his Dadda, his Momma, a

Racicot or a Kerrigan or a Mross?"

I think I just look like me!!!

Another First For Me ... Meeting My Aunties Lauren and Rama ... and Oh Yea, There's Something Called Halloween!

My Aunties Lauren and Rama came up to meet me

all the way from Atlanta ... what a perfect day to

play at Weber Farm with me and my brother, Simon!

I don't think I get to enjoy the whole Halloween

tradition just yet ... give me a year or two, but

I was dressed for the day and hope you

got all the treats!

I Have A Birthday ... Well, Sort Of

Today I am officially able to count my age

in months now, not just days or weeks.

I am One Month Old!!!

I Hope I Grow Up Soon So I Can Go Run With Simon

I am growing bigger, I know, because I am about

9 1/2 pounds but still it doesn't get me out

the door with Simon when he goes off to play

with MiMi. MiMi says to be happy and enjoy

all my time with Momma for now and I know she's right.

 Simon are you leaving with MiMi?

 Okay, I know I sleep too much right now.

And we'll have lots and lots of time together soon.

I know that MiMi is right ... just looking into

Momma's face makes me feel like the happiest little boy.

I Met Sarah, My Momma's Cousin today!

 Sarah, so nice to meet you!

Momma, Simon, MiMi and I went on a little

road trip on Friday to meet Sarah

in College Park.  She's a famous actress from

Florida and was up in Maryland to be in a play

and she got to play with puppets! Lucky Sarah!

I Have To Grow Into My Fingers and Toes!

Dr. Duffy agrees that if you just look at my

fingers and toes you can see that I seem

to take after the longer leaner look like my Dada.

MiMi thinks it reminds her of the little puppies

that you see with the big paws and 

everyone knows they'll have to grow a lot

to grow into their biggest.  Me too, I guess!
